Tibetan Cranial Apprentice Program

To become a Tibetan Cranial practitioner, a two to three year program of instruction, study and practice is required. We call this process “Apprenticeship” in the same way other fine crafts have been taught throughout history. Master teacher Shar Lee conducts five-day retreats held twice a year, and 2 yearly weekend clinic trainings, in which apprentices learn through direct instruction and practice. Apprentices are required to independently work on 108 people in a years time as practice. Twice a year in between our 5 day retreat trainings we hold 2 day weekend clinic trainings. This is a critical component of our Apprentice program. We hold the clinics in between the 5 day retreat trainings to benefit the apprentices with valuable hands on learning with Shar Lee. Over the Saturday and Sunday clinic sessions each apprentice receives individual attention and correction so they can be sure they are practicing correctly. Out of state apprentices are also expected to attend these weekend clinics and may make arrangements to stay with other apprentices. Please contact us for more information.

Our TC apprentice program consists of 5 parts that are necessary for you to participate in;

1. A meeting with Shar Lee to talk and have your pulses taken by her. Call her at 303-651-9605 to set up a short appointment. If you live out of state and can not get here before the training call her and talk about it. If you have not had a TC session, Shar may be able to fit you into her schedule for one before the training, especially if you mention your interest in our program. We also have other Practitioners and Apprentices that would be happy to book you a session and talk to you about our program. Click the contact us button at the top of this page for their contact information.

2. An ongoing spiritual practice. Our 5 day retreat program includes Yoga and meditation to help you create, expand and reinforce your current practice. All TC sessions require the apprentice to be in a state of Mantra, or Prayer, which takes a regular personal practice to be able to hold this focus for extended periods of time.

3. Attending the 5 day retreat trainings 2 times a year. Missing a training will result in suspension of TC Apprenticeship. (see statement from the TC Board of Directors below)

4. Attending the 2 day weekend clinics 2 times a year. Missing a training will result in suspension of TC Apprenticeship. (see statement from the TC Board of Directors below)

5. Completing 108 independent study TC sessions a year. Practicing on as many people (other apprentices too) as possible between trainings and clinics is essential to learning to feel the pulses.

Shar’s teaching style is hands-on and nurturing. In addition to the in-depth teaching of TC®, Shar teaches the apprentices yoga, meditation, and mantra, or prayer at our 5 day retreat program. This enables each person to enter a calm, receptive state, necessary to receive this training. This forum also allows for Tibetan Cranial to be taught in its original Eastern style: non-verbally, tactually and intuitively.

Apprentices develop the ability to hear the language of the pulses in order to know exactly what each client needs. Consequently they must have a great deal of patience and humility. The development of these skills takes time and dedication. Tibetan Cranial requires the apprentice and practitioner to have a strong spiritual practice that sustains the sacred state of prayer or mantra during the session. Connection to Spirit allows for information to be received and understood in a more precise way, thus opening the possibility for the client to heal from within.

So, if you are drawn to this work and you can make room in your life for this, the next step is to contact us, and then meet with Shar. If you have the pulses to do this work, then go onto our web site and click on the upcoming training button. Then click register and it will take you to the Shambhala web site for you to do the registration process. You can also call Shambhala from that page. The program cost includes the training, food and dorm room lodging. There are other lodging options for an increased cost. You can make those arrangements with Shambhala.

We have formed the Tibetan Cranial Association dedicated to the survival of this ancient modality. We are currently seeking people who are interested in studying Tibetan Cranial and are willing to enter the life-changing process it requires. Apprentices learn to help many different people and will carry on Tibetan Cranial for the benefit of future generations.

From the Board of Directors of the Tibetan Cranial Association, Inc

Notice of change in policy for The Tibetan Cranial Apprentice Program as of 7-18-08

Our new policy is as follows: Each Apprentice must sign a written agreement before beginning the apprentice program. Said agreement states that every apprentice shall commit to attending 2 yearly 5 day retreat trainings and 2 yearly two day clinic trainings, as well as perform the Tibetan Cranial (TC) work on patients/clients in between. This agreement is considered to be in breach if an apprentice misses one of any of the Tibetan Cranial 5 day retreat trainings or the TC clinics. With said breach, you will be suspended from our TC Apprentice Program immediately. This means you may not practice any TC sessions with any clients or apprentices, nor attend further apprentice retreats, or clinics. You may reapply for apprenticeship to the Tibetan Cranial Association Board of Directors and will remain suspended until the Board decides to reinstate your TC Apprenticeship.

We had an exceptional apprentice training at the Shambhala Mountain Center in October, 2006!  The 5 day forum was a groundbreaking experience for everyone involved!  We want to thank the new apprentices for their willingness to fully immerse themselves in the process of learning Tibetan Cranial.  We have great aspirations that the seed of knowledge you have planted will sprout up and blossom into a
vibrant flower of knowledge. This experience was unforgettable; we look forward to seeing you all in the Spring! Check out some pictures from the retreat!
